Doh! The system became unavailable late last night, and still isn't up now. I heard they have a good backup plan, but I wonder how much they know about load balancing and redundency.

While I'm an Internet junkie, some things are still too abstract done at a screen. Learning to organizing a class - very similar to an IA excercise - by using an online forums was quite abstract, I had to use pencil and paper. Referencing the manual onscreen is also clumsy, I'd prefer a printable version. Keyword: feedback.

Since the system is only in it's second semester, the new distance ed process at the New School needs some tweaking. One of my students is in Korea and can't wait for her password to be mailed to her, and another didn't understand why her class wasn't showing up yet. keyword: Feedback.

I now have 14 students signed up for my class. I've posted a greeting, the syllabus, an introductory presentation, the first week's lecture notes presentation, and a "What is IA?" discussion topic. Students are in orientation for 2 days, then my class starts Thursday. Weeeeeee...
